In construction, they talk about levels. There is the slab level, window level, and so on. This way of breaking down tasks puts them into achievable pieces that one can focus on at a time, per stage, per level. There are a few things we will highlight for this part
Task breaking
Break down the whole plan into different stages. Each stage has its goals and results. These stages should have a pattern that can be easily followed. Some can be done together, simultaneously, or consecutively; waiting for one stage to finish and then proceeding to the next.
Time
Set times for each of the stages. This should be a reasonable time frame, that’s not too short or too long with a grace period if you are unable to meet the deadlines. Setting time and sticking to it is very important to avoid peer pressure, and it gives you room to work at your own pace.
Milestones
Milestones should be set and must be very clear. Each milestone is a significant step towards achieving the overall goal that one has. After each milestone you would need to have a review to assess the progress made, and if the work done is satisfactory. I’m the case of constructing a house, if we reached the window level but the progress made did not meet our standards, we actually would have to redo the work!
